A pediatric stroke is no different than an adult stroke, other than the age group it affects.  It occurs when the blood flow to any part of the brain of a child (0 – 18 years of age) or unborn is interrupted, resulting in tissue injury and the loss of brain function.

An estimated 28,000 children will suffer a childhood stroke this year alone, and 6,000 of these 28,000 innocent lives will be lost as a result of this unfortunate event; and those children who do survive will experience a life-time of mental and physical challenges.  So, join the ANE Pediatric Stroke Foundation in their effort, as they work relentlessly to raise pediatric stroke awareness for the purpose of saving innocent lives and consequently reducing these alarming statistics affecting children.

The ANE (Ayanna Noelani Emiko) Pediatric Stroke Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Corporation established on the 3rd day of August 2011 for the purpose of providing support services to children and families affected by a pediatric stroke, while increasing community awareness regarding its prevalence through outreach initiatives, in an effort to ease transitional burdens and reduce long-term stroke effects.

The SPCA Of Fannin County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Fannin County Texas, it was founded in 2010 to address the problem of animal neglect in their local community.

Their Mission is to provide loving, safe, caring homes for lost, neglected, and abused animals.  They will accept both domestic and livestock.  They want to see all animals loved and well-treated.

They also have an Adoption Guarantee: Animal organizations that save all the healthy and treatable animals under their care, with euthanasia reserved only for unhealthy & untreatable animals. An adoption guarantee organization could be an animal shelter, rescue group, foster care organization, or sanctuary.

Deep Kids, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in downtown Savannah, Georgia, was founded in 2008 to address the problem of illiteracy in Chatham County.

Deep’s mission is to provide under-served youth with educational experiences that will measurably increase levels of literacy, motivation, and achievement in 100% of participating students.  Since it was created, Deep has served more than 1200 students, trained 80 instructors, produced 42 anthologies of student writing, and published a successful middle school curriculum. In the last two years alone, Deep has more than doubled in size to meet the growing demand for our program.
